DUBUQUE– Congressman Rod Blum was recognized by the Historic Tax Credit Coalition and the entire preservation community as a Historic Tax Credit Champion for his work to preserve the credit through the tax reform process and his commitment to improving it in years to come.
A spokesman for the Historic Tax Credit Coalition commented, “Congressman Blum has been a faithful supporter of the Historic Tax Credit for years. He understands how important this community revitalization tool is and he stood up to ensure this vital program for the First District, and all of Iowa, can continue to catalyze development for years to come.”
Congressman Blum added, “It is a true honor to be recognized with this award. These tax credits have allowed my hometown of Dubuque, and many others in my district, to undergo incredible developments– all without costing taxpayers a cent. During tax reform negotiations for the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, I was extremely disappointed to see the Historic Tax Credits were not a part of the original legislation. I fought tooth and nail for my constituents, and it paid off– the credits were included in the final version of the bill.”
